How The Ewoks Saved The Trees
February 13, 2013 - How the Ewoks Saved the Trees is one of the earlier Ewoks books, made before the time of the cartoon series. Published in 1984, the year after the last movie of the Original Trilogy came to theaters, this book gives a visual reminder to kids and parents that this story is closely connected to the hit movie by displaying the Return of the Jedi movie logo at the top of the front cover. This was a common feature for Ewoks collectibles in the time before the cartoon series first aired. Also common to this time period is the pre-cartoon series animation style.
This book features the first appearance of the Phlogs; a giant, brutish race of creatures that are attempting to destroy the Ewok's forest.
How the Ewoks Saved the Trees was published by Random House, was written by James Howe and was illustrated by Walter Velez.
Thank you to Droids and Ewoks fan Eric for contributing the picture of this book!
