JANN TOSH

Jann Tosh is the hero of the second story arc of Droids. He is an orphan from the time of the Clone Wars who has been raised by his uncle Gundy; a prospector who has travelled to many worlds in search of riches. Jann acquires R2-D2, C-3PO and Kez-Iban (disguised as an android) on Tyne's Horky through a trade with Yorpo Mog. He intends to have the droids work at his uncle's mine, but after discovering that the android is in fact an exiled prince who has lost his memory, he helps his new friend regain his kingdom as Mon Julpa, king of Tammuz-an. Jann's adventures take him to many different planets where he encounters villains such as Kleb Zellock, Zatec Cha, IG-88, the Pirates of Tarnoonga and the Starhunters. With the help of his droids and his friends Jessica Meade and King Julpa he is able to defeat these foes and eventually fulfil his dream of attending the Space Academy.

The character of Jann Tosh was voiced by Toronto, Ontario born Don Francks (February 28, 1932 - April 3, 2016). Francks was also the voice for Kybo Ren and for Boba Fett in both The Holiday Special and Droids.
