Imperial TIE Fighter Pilot
Imperial TIE Fighter Pilots accompanied Darth Vader in defending the Death Star from an attack by the Rebel Alliance. All of the TIE Fighter Pilots that served aboard the Death Star would have most likely perished either during the Rebel attack or in the explosion of the space station.
Character Introduced: 1987
Character Last Used: 1987
Appearances (Droids Comics): Issue 8 (June, 1987)
Action Figures: None
Editors Comments: Imperial TIE Fighter Pilots were only seen in two panels of Droids issue 8. Their appearance is completely different from the characters in Episode IV (the basis for this comic). Since this first appearance, the white TIE Fighter Pilot has not appeared again in either movies, television or Expanded Universe material. It is unknown as to why artist Ernie Colon chose to go for an all new design for this character. Several other characters in the 'Star Wars as Seen by the Droids' story line (issues 6-8) also wear different uniforms or outfits than those that were seen in the movie, but many of those are based on concept art for the film by Ralph McQuarrie. Of all of Ernie Colon's unique character designs, the TIE Fighter Pilot is definitely the most elaborate.
