The adventures of R2-D2 continue in the Droids comic series, as he and C-3PO serve under new masters and travel to many different worlds. R2-D2's appearance varies greatly over the series as seen in some of the examples below. Appearances: Issues 1-8
Jost Ellon
Jost Ellon is a resident of the planet Dodz who becomes the droids master in the first issue of the series. With the help of the droids and an old Ranger X-One, he defeats Governor Kugg, the local dictator. Appearances: Issue 1
Destroyer Droid
A massive droid used by Kugg to threaten the council of Dodz. During battle with a Ranger X-One, the destroyer droid met it's end.

Althon
The head councilman on the planet Dodz. He opposes Governor Kugg, but fears that that he cannot be stopped because of his powerful droid enforcer.

Nikki Idd
Nikki Idd works for her father transporting damaged droids to his repair station. She and her brother Vik were masters of C-3PO and R2-D2 for a short period of time.

Vik Idd
Vik Idd works with his sister transporting damaged droids. He was instrumental in defeating members of the Fromm gang after they captured Lon Idd's repair station. Appearances: Issue 2
Vlix
A cruel gangster without mercy and the right hand man of Tig Fromm. Appearances: Issue 2
Tig Fromm
The son of gang leader Sise Fromm. Tig leads a mission to Lonn Idd's repair station to force the mechanic to install a new laser weapon aboard a Fromm spacecraft. Appearances: Issue 2
Guardian Droid
The shell of a powerful Guardian Droid, which was resistant to the laser blasts of the Hover Guard droids, was worn by C-3PO to defeat the Fromm Gang. Appearances: Issue 2
Llez
Llez is the obnoxious son of Ambassador Zell. After making life miserable for his caretakers C-3PO and R2-D2, he learns his lesson after being captured by his former hero Reddjak the pirate. Appearances: Issue 3
Reddjak
Reddjak is a notorious space pirate, but is also a hero for many children. Llez, and admirer of Reddjak later discovers the pirate's cruel nature. Reddjak appears to be mostly human with the exception of his pointed ears. Appearances: Issue 3
Majorran Captain
This brave captain of Ambassador Zell's vessel helped to lead an attack against Reddjak's ship. Appearances: Issue 3
Sooma Sentry
Several of these sentries were positioned around the royal palace on Sooma, including at the landing platform where C-3PO and R2-D2 disembarked. Appearances: Issue 4
Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi
Jedi Knight turned hermit who rescues Luke Skywalker from the Sand People on Tatooine and begins to instruct the young man in the ways of the Force. He sacrifices himself aboard the Death Star, but continues to instruct Luke even after becoming one with the Force. Appearances: Issues 6-8
Rebel Alliance Pilots
Both male and female pilots took part in the Rebel Alliance's attack on the Death Star. Appearances: Issue 8
C-3PO
For most of the series, C-3PO's appearance is similar to the animation of the television series. The exception is in the final three issues, where his look is styled more after the movies. Appearances: Issues 1-8
Governor Kugg
Kugg is the governor of Dodz, who uses a destroyer droid to enforce his will upon the planet. Although his species is not stated, he appears to be a Gamorrean.

Ranger X-One
The Ranger X-One is a very old, but powerful model of droid. When inactive, the droid folds up into the shape of a storage crate. After being discovered by Jost Ellon and his droids, the Ranger X-One is activated and sent into battle against Kugg's destroyer droid. Appearances: Issue 1
Wise Man of Dodz
An old man of unknown name who encouraged Jost Ellon to fight Kugg and free Dodz from his tyranny.

Pathetic Looking Droids
While aboard a shuttle carrying droids in need of repair, C-3PO commented that R2-D2, who was damaged at that time, still looked better than the "pathetic lot" sitting across from him. The three droids took offense and attacked C-3PO. Appearances: Issue 2
Lonn Idd
A mechanic who operates a droid repair station, he was captured by the Fromm gang and nearly forced to install a powerful weapon aboard their spacecraft. Appearances: Issue 2
Hover Guard
Hover guard droids were used by Tig Fromm as security droids. Appearances: Issue 2
Fromm Gangster
Tig Fromm and Vlix were accompanied by two other gang members to the droid repair station operated by Lonn Idd. Like Tig and Vlix, they are from the alien race called Annoo-dat-Blue. Appearances: Issue 2
Ambassador Zell
Ambassador Zell is a wealthy government official on the planet Majoor. He becomes the owner of R2-D2 and C-3PO and charges them with taking care of his son Llez. Appearances: Issue 3
Guard Droid
Droids programmed to guard and transport prisoners. Two of these guards were transporting the prisoner Reddjak when they were attacked by Llez. Appearances: Issue 3
Reddjak's Gunners
A two headed alien who operates the weapons aboard Reddjak's ship. Appearances: Issue 3
Reddjak's Crew
Reddjak's crew is composed of aliens of many different species, including a large reptilian being who appears to be Reddjak's first mate. Appearances: Issue 3
Zornog
Zornog is the ruler of Sooma. He unintentionally becomes involved in a dispute with the planet Alzar over the stowaway son of Alzar's King Gokus. Appearances: Issue 4
General Jan Dodonna
Dodonna is a Rebel Alliance General stationed at the Yavin Rebel base. Appearances: Issue 8
Imperial TIE Fighter Pilots
Imperial Tie Fighter Pilots assisted Darth Vader in the defense of the Death Star against Rebel Alliance fighters. Appearances: Issue 8
